How's it goin fellas!!! I am ready too.... saw a bachlor group with 4-5 nice bucks at one of my spots the other morning. I think it is going to be a good season, I also got my antlerless permit for "Up North" so that is a bonus.

BeWild is here! Saw this at work today but couldn't post. I'll be hunting Marquette county up here at school. Got the spots, putting up stands tomorrow. Can't wait to put out the bait!! :evil:

Must be nice to be able to bait!!!! The DNR CO in my main hunting county has been checking!!! When I was out on my private property....which is bordered by state land on three sides Labor Day he was out with a ATV checking the usual spots for bait so beware of the consequences of baiting the fines are astronomical and the hassle is not worth it. He said that COs have been breifed and will be strictly enforcing the bating laws in the LP.

Oh yea, that would be good to share,

I am hunting a sweet piece of farm land in Barry County and some private and public hardwoods in Lake County (antlerless permit only good for private land though).

I am also hunting gun only.

public land st.clair county doe permit from drawing already. Yes ( hunt near home )

Private land doe for sanilac ( They eat out of your hand there ) got it.

Private land doe for tuscola permit. got it

Got to get a private doe tag for st clair tommorow and a public land doe tag on 18th for iosco .

Plus I got my turkey permit for zone T. SWEET

And got my combo license for my bucks wherever I may find them this year.

I hunt all inclusion Early seasons , bow , gun , bow , late season , and muzzy.

May the deer gods guide us all in our hunt.

For anyone who would like to know the early season antlerless hunt does have public land permits still available. Check out the DNR webpage at the DNR for availabilty.

These tags will be available starting next Wendsday, September 17th at 10am. Get out and bag a doe and help managfe our populations. This early hunt is for rifles (above the line), shotguns, and archery. This hunt does have an orange requirement so be safe!

Also, seeing as we can only score two animals it would be a good idea to take a doe to insure you score at least 50 for the team. I would suggest however saving that doe until the end if you are planning on harvesting bucks also.

How many deer would every one hope to take or like to take?

I would like to take 4 this year 2 doe and 2 buck.....

Who else is going to be out for this hunt???

Hows everyone gonna deal with the five dollar a gallon gas? Here in Lansing on Saginaw on the west side of town gas at 330 pm was 3.93 a gal......400pm 5.17 a gal....WHEN DOES IT END!!!

Arcticcatman is here. Sorry I am so late. SOmeone should have PM'ed me. I just haven't cheched this forum in a few days. I was checking it for teams but didn't see anything posted since the end of sign-in. I get on here about 3-4 times a week.

I am hunting private land in SE Michigan. I only start bow hunting after the leaves fall and it cools off. Many times that is after Oct. 20th or so. The last few years i have only gone to my stand 6-7 times in the bow season due to warm weather. I gun hunt about 8-10 times during the season. I haven't late season hunted because I get what I am looking for during the bow season or the gun season.

How often do you guys expect to make it out hunting? I usually make it out 4-5 days a week, but I got a baby on the way and things are looking grim.:help: Plus I'm heading to Illinois for two weekends during prime time.

I will only be gun hunting this year as tout and steelhead fishing takes up most of my fall.

I will be out for early doe for the duration barring good weather. I finished hannging stands and last minute trimming last week and picked up a couple doe tags at lunch. I will be on the farm in Barry County for this.

I will be hunting Nov 15-18 up in Lake County for deer camp.

Nov 27-30 will likely be up there as well depending on the steelhead fishing, if that is slow I will be out hunting the whole time in Barry County.

Dec-Jan hunting will be back to Barry County farm.

I drive about 15 miles to my hunting spot. I also pass it on the way home so I can stop when the weather is nice.
