Idaho elk hunt!!!!

I am leaving for my home state of Idaho Saturday morning and I am taking two Michigan guys with me. We are going elk hunting for 2 weeks. These are new friends that I met right here on this site. Boy they are in for a treat! We have been planning this trip for about 8 months now and we are all ready to go!!! I hope to have a good story and some great pics for all to see! see you all at the end of September!

Wow! Good Luck, enjoy yourselves and be safe. I hope you all come home with monstrous racks....I'd love to see what the vehicle looks like hauling them back! Take lots of pictures, all us unsuccessful MI applicants want to share your experience.

I am headed out Thursday the 11th. What hunt unit are you headed to? We are going to the Tex Creek unit. Should be a good time. My friend has gone several times, but this will be my first. Good luck and I look forward to hearing some stories.

I've got a group of Michiganders arriving tonight for our elk hunt next week. We'll be up in Island Park. No luck on the elk this past week, but had an up close bear encounter. Should start to heat up next week. Good luck to everyone!!

I've hunted elk and mule deer multiple times in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. It is my favorite place on earth. Hope they listened to you about getting in shape:D

Archery tags are over the counter some rifle tags are a draw.

I have hunted that area 3 out of the past 5 years. It is a decent area I did shoot a pretty nice 6x6 there in 2003 and have a few chances at others. If you hit it right it can be really good. There can be alot of weekend hunters so your best bet is to pack in a few miles at least on the weekends. Good luck to you and if you have any questions feel free to PM me. I am heading for the Missouri breaks in Montana in 2 weeks first time there but am getting fired up.

We are leaving Sept 11 for a week of m/l elk in Colorado. Three of us from here and four more from Colorado. We have 6 cow tags and one bull tag with countless deer tags. Trail cameras have shown a lot of activity since Labor Day weekend including bow hunter and bikers. Good luck to all and shot straight.
