Geez, I swear I'm giving up on that lake. Ended up catch/release 4 small gills. Fish jumping everywhere except were my lure was. Something actually bit a my sons bobber while cranking it in , never saw what it was though, big splash..

Anybody doing better than that or a better technique at this time. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Just trying to get the kids some pannies without going to the big lake. Thanks

So far this year the few times I went to stoney I've only caught a few gills and maybe 2 bass and 2 pike.

Take a trip to the Dam at kensington lake, there are more gills there then you can shake a stick at

I was out at Stony today; did OK: 8 bass,1 pike, 1 catfish. Started about 10:00 am, off the water at 4:00pm.
If you are not fishing the outer edge of the weeds at this time of the year you have very low chances to catch anything. Since the zebra mussels got in the lake, the clarity of the water increased tremendously; all the fish go out in deeper water once the spawn is over. Since july, I hardly cought any fish in less then 8ft of water.
I remember a couple years ago there were sunnies everywhere. today you can walk the lake arround without seeing any. Only place you could still pick some up would be by the north end dam, in the current.Try it out; use panfish worms, crickets or waxies. Good luck.

Have also had good luck with 2 of my girls fishing the edge of the weeds north of the beach by the launch. They pulled 20 there, it got so easy they started taking the fish off themselves. They got tired of waiting for me to do it.
