Im just getting into surf fishing on the huron but is a 10'6 ml fast action rod suitable for the surf of the huron? it seems to light to handle a 1oz to 1 1/2oz pyramid, should I go with a medium or medium heavy?

I use a 10' medium action for the surf on Lake Michigan and I throw 2oz. with no problem. I can throw a 3oz. but don't like to. If a 2oz. won't hold, it's probably too rough to be fishing anyways. Good luck.

Oh yeah, the rod's I use are Traverse Bay Tackle, MC Sports is the only place that carries them. Great rods for the price.
