Normally fish the Detroit River near Trenton. I also have a nice 12 foot boat that I would like to use to fish for some panfish. Any suggestions for fall fishing for panfish. I don't mind driving a little distance. My daughter would be thrilled. Thanks

Islander,
I'm partial to Big Portage Lake just northwest of Ann Arbor. There is a state access with a nice concrete ramp off Macgregor Road in a short channel that connects the lake to the Huron River. You can also take the channel into the river, turn left and motor into Baseline Lake just a few minutes upstream.
I usually do well on the panfish in Big Portage. It has a nice population of big rock bass too.
That area is dotted with other lakes that are loaded with panfish as well. Check out Waterloo Rec. Area as well as Pinckney Rec. Area.
