Hubbard Lake

[Bay Sportfishing]

How has the walleye fishing been on Hubbard Lake lately? I was up there a couple of weeks ago and we caught 35 over two days. However, only 9 of the walleye were keepers. Just wondering if the ratio has improved?

THats been the theme most of the summer. 1 out of 4 seems to be the norm. We're having an "informal tourney" with a bunch of guys on here, on saturday, its a great time. Encore(sangbagger extrodinaire) sent you the link. :D

Thanks for the report and the invitation. I won't be able to make it up there this weekend. I already have a trips to Burt and Mullet planned over labor day. I'll be interested in hearing the weights and how many fish people go through in the tournament. There are some big fish in there, but you have to do a lot of sorting. I will be up several weekends throughtout September with clients and will be happy to share reports.

Yah, it'll be a good time, too bad you can't join us.. I wouldn't say Hubbard is blessed with big fish though. Healthy fish yes, but 22" are nice fish in hubbard. Although a big fish I lost at the back of the boat, did spawn this tourney, so I guess there are a few. :D

That fish is still alive and well, he writes me from time to time. Spends his days loafing around on the sandbar at the north end, and spends his nights dining on ill-fated crayfish in the shallows. Rumor has it, he's got a girlfriend now. I'm going to see if I can get in touch with him this weekend.
