Sorry I missed a few days there, I've got my friend Kirk and his daughter Ashley staying with me right now and have been kind of busy. Going to have to try and make this one short, then I'll try and get back on top of things Monday or Tuesday. If a picture is worth a thousand words then I'll make up for it...

Did take that group again on Wednesday the 9th and the fishing was just about as good as it gets once again. Sparrows, hexes, peach and Oregon cheese eggs got most of our legitimate takers. Did my second double net job for Tom and his wife fairly early on. It's always fun when you've got them working a double and doing the fire drill then manage to net one right after the other. Here are the results!

The rest of the day went about the same and when we got back we got all set up for 2003 & 2004, should be a blast again!

On Thursday Jim and I took a group trip out and fished different water most of the time. I tried hitting one of my "hot spots" early on, but that particular pool was much slower, still we hooked and played a fair number of fish there along with landing a few. Here's Jim with one of his...

One more pool after that put us on a fair number of fresh fish and after that the next two were pretty slow. It seems that wave has moved on up from where I've been. A great day none the less and the guys were pleased, just not quite the action I'd been having.

On Friday I took Mike and his wife Jenny. It was Jenny's first crack at this type of fishing, but she had done quite a bit of other sorts and it showed. After only a few minutes of instruction she was at it like an old pro. Our day started off very slow, but once the sun hit the pool we were fishing and they got a bit more concentrated the action picked right up. Here's one of the fish that Mike caught. (I think, or maybe it was Jenny?!?)

Herb and his clients fished the pool with us and it was non stop action for a couple of hours there with lots of doubles and triples. Our percentage of "head shakers" was pretty good, but I would have liked to have seen a few less in the tail mouth. Hey it happens when they're that concentrated... Here's a great one that Jenny got and we dug her black stone out from inside it's throat!

I took this Saturday off to be with my friends from out of town, my son Brandon and my grandson Baile'. We spent a fair amount of time hanging around the house before taking off to go fishing for a few hours, but got lucky once we got out because Herb was with clients in that same shared pool from the day before and let us drop in on him for a while. Baile' got to fight quite a few fish and finally managed to land this one! That's my son Brandon in back of us.

We hit one more pool after that that didn't produce and then finished off on a gravel bar that kept us busy for a while. Plain old good fun with friends and family, just what the doctor ordered! I'm out on trips for most of the week, but am starting to have a few openings here and there. Anyone interested in searching for steel with me should call the shop and get those open dates! (We'll stick a few Salmon here and there if we have to to keep things interesting, but I think if you really concentrate on Steel at this point we "should" be able to find a few.)

That's all I've got for now. Till next time, tight lines!
Steve

P.S. Dont forget to go here to sign up for the fall outing! (http://www.******************/outing/outing.htm)

Good post, I was getting alittle worried about you not posting for a little while!
