Wamplers Lake 8/20/08

My son and his buddy went up there yesterday and did well on panfish and caught about 10 bass (C&R). They came home today and I just got thru helping him clean them. (Pic in gallery).
He said the biggest gills were from in front of the State Park Beach on crawlers drifting with no bobber. The bass came the same way but all over. I guess I must have to be real old b4 I get invited to go with them:lol:

YES!!!!!!, man up and get old would ya!":lol:...p.s. if the wind is too strong for erie or st clair the next few days, we may just venture over there and check out the fishin

Wamplers was the first lake that I remember fishing as a kid. It's been a few years since I've been there but I going to try to get out there in the next month or so.

I would be careful eating the fish or swimming in wamplers lake,:(they are treating it with copper sulfate and 24d(agent orange:yikes:) to kill off the weeds,and some type of bug .

fished it today only caught 2 keeper gills ,,the worst day this year

i fished sun from noon to dark - wow ! the boat traffic ! i just remembered why i dont fish it ! although i always caught fish - water was dark came home with 5 nice crappies and one gill front of state park in 15-20 ft drifting also got 8 bass - nothing big but was first time trying wacky worm on jig- used a glow head
