Fished for perch out on the mighty pond today. Started at
GPYC and caught quite a few early in the am and most of these
fish bit by using a tube (red head-white tail) with 2 lb test.
I ended up with 37 on the day, 19 of them were 10-12 and
2 fish ended up at 12.5. The rest were 8-9 inchers. It was
a slow day and I put in some time to get these fish.

1fife, after you left I went in front of 13 mile and nailed a
dozen good ones in about an hour or so.

all in all slow day

lots of boats, but catching was not hot and heavy

talked to dnr at crocker launch and he calle dit slow also

good day to be on water

started day at about 13 mile
caught a few

went to gpyc
caught a few

back to 9 mile
caught a few

we would run into 5 fish in 5 minutes, then very slow for 15 minutes

We did mark alot of big fish when moving around-i would assume the muskies are in good and really scattering the fish

didnt nail them anywhere
saved anything over 8 1/2(my silly standard for filleting)

ended day with 28 keepers
through back only maybe 20-most were nice size

biggest only went 11 inches(nothing huge)

and hate to admit if my buddy got the (triple crown)-first-most-biggest

its was nice seeing tubejig for the first time on the water
and as usual
ran into walleye mike everytime out
is this all he does :)

Do any of you fish the other side of the pond , like the Bassadd, or mitchells bay ? four of my buddy's fished three miles past the canadian weather bouy , filled up two five gallon buckets,all fish were 8-12'' ????

I would love to give it a whirl over on that side but my vessel is a little on the small side to make that run.

Tube jig, I'd be happy to take you over there, always looking for somebody to fish with, I'll be gone for a week starting tues be back the following tues, I'll get ahold of you if you want to go?

Tubejig, caught one more right as you left. Too many gobys in my spot. I headed back to the launch when you left for 13 mile. I had enough for lunch Sunday. Nobody eats fish at home but me. Mine were 9-10", using crawler pieces.(did not stop for minnows)

Perch bellies had crawfish in them.

1Fife, my wife says I fish too much but better than just sitting in front of the tube and growing old. Besides what good is having a boat just sit in the driveway doing nothing?
