Canoes and kayaks at night

I know that having running lights at night is a good idea regardless, but, is it the law for canoes and kayaks? Also what rules change if you put a trolling motor on a canoe? Do you have to register it?

No you do not have to have 'running lights' however, you must have a signaling device at night - and yes - if you moterize it you must register with the state.
