Crossbow hunting question...

Never had to find out the legal side of this question...If my 10 year old nephew has a disability and gets approved for a crossbow...can he shoot that weapon during archery deer season at the age of 10?? Or does he have to wait till he is 12?? Someone on this site mentioned that it is equivalent to firing a gun??

I could call the dnr or look for it in a hunting guide...but both would take a lot longer than the knowledgeable members we have on this site!!:D

If he has a permit for a crossbow than it would be allowed in the archery season, early doe seaon, and the youth hunt. It would be his archery equipment
