3 of us fished today on the backwaters of foote and took 75 huge gil's:yikes: What a blast. Ultra lite rods, 2# test and leeches over 13 fow were the ticket.Good fishin!

Me and my family went up to our lake house on Diamond Lake in Barryton, Mi. We went out and took 80 slab gills in one day.:yikes: One thing was really weird was that the gills were still on the beds in July.:dizzy:

Were the gills you saw on the beds small (this year's newly hatched), or were they larger? My son caught a handful of small gills off of beds in Paw Paw Lake 3 weeks ago. I'm sure they were this year's crop of youngsters, although I've never seen them on the beds on August 1.

No the gills we caught we 8 to 10in.
