Hey everyone my father and I went pike fishing on four mile lake on sunday from 2-5 and we caught 5 pike the biggest is in the picture at 28.5 inches we also caught 1 small largemouth. The boat launch was real shallow I would estimate about a foot and half then between 2-4 feet all the way to the hole.

Nice fish, R&A Johnston! :fish:

I've yet to fish there, but the approaches that get good pike elsewhere should work there as well, rwlall.

For big ones I'd troll large (at least 5 inch long, 6-8 inch being ideal) lures in the hole -- one as deep as you can go without hanging up, and the other in the prop wash, running them fast, about 4-6 mph. Definitely work the perimeter of the deep area.

If it's a "no wake" lake, and you can't troll very fast, run a lure that has a lot of vibration (large spinner, musky flatfish, Believer, largest Rat-L-Trap, etc.) on one rod, and "slash troll" a lure you can burn on the other, casting behind the boat, and cranking it back fast and erratically, like a fleeing bait fish. That sort of action just detonates predators.

If either of these techniques don't get the attention of the big ones, nothing will. Might just catch some monster bass that way, too.

We caught all of ours trolling around the hole in 12-14fow, i was using a white spinner bait an my father was using a rattling crankbait. We were trolling at 2-2.8mph
