I plan on fishing Maceday lake (Oakland county) tomorrow after work. I have never fished it before and could use any advice on catching splake or walleye (looking to catch dinner). I have studied the lake map and I can see where the deep hole is and I assume the splake are in and around there. A friend told me he caught walleye ice fishing in the area between Maceday and Lotus but I don't know if it would be the same this time of year.
I'm not looking to take over some buddy's secret spot but a little advice to bring home dinner would be appreciated. I will ask for a fishing report at KD Outdoors when I'm buying bait too. PM me if you don't want to post to all.
Thank you in advance.

Got a nice 22" walleye on a spinner bait a couple weeks ago while looking for smallies. I know it's not a lot of help but at least we know they're out there :D

I've also been wanting to try my luck with some of those maceday splake.

Well didn't get much advice from the site here but gave it our best. No walleye or splake caught but we did catch alot of large mouth and sunfish with a 26" fatty pike finishing the day. All fish came on crawler harness with a big split shot in the back bay of Maceday. We tried trolling the outside of the deep hole with body baits and harness with bottom bouncers without a hit. We moved to the back bay fishing the 30' hole without a bite. We then anchored on the point in the back bay and replaced the bottom bouncer with a split shot and proceeded to start catching fish after fish. Still came home without dinner though. Maybe next time.:fish:
