perch sat. morning

went out sat morning and found the perch in LSC 13' OW...did alright close to a limit by 10am but then the smallies moved in and i could not keep them off my perch riggs..some were so big i had to keep on straightening my hooks back in shape....their fun to catch....but i throw them back....then i started catching gar pike....first ever....i've never caught them on hook and line .....they were small about 24" threw them back as well.....got in around 12pm....fun day on the lake with all that variety of fish

What in the world did the Gar hit on???
I have them in my canal and over the years have thrown everything at them. I would swear they are the true snobs of the fish world!!!:lol::lol:

gars were hitting my minnows on a perch rigg....fished north west dumpiing grounds on east side of the channel

Try putting a small length of nylon line on your hooks and adding a minnow or 2 to get their attention. They will get their teeth stuck in the nylon and hook them that way before they hook themselves on the hooks. No experience but that is what I hear anyways.
