Went for sturgeon last nite. About 10:45 had the first one on. My buddy fought it for about 3-5 minutes till it came unhooked. Rebaited and set it back down. Not 10 minutes later the fight was on once again. This one was bigger. Hard fight for about 12 minutes. I was telling him to loosen the drag especially when he made a big run. He said the drag is fine, line is going out. (but I thought still too much pressure) Sure enough, he made another run and SNAP!!!!(30lb Fireline) The fish had to be at least 5ft. Splashed once and never got it closer than 30 ft from the boat (actually right under the boat, we were sitting in 33 ft of water) That fish went where and when it wanting too.

Also caught a silver bass and a stone cat.

Menu for the nite was "surf and turf"

Nice work Mike.

My wife and I fished from 9:00-3:30. We caught one small catfish, one silver bass, numberous rock bass and sheepheads, one walleye. We had one ~45" sturgeon jump about 20 ft from the boat that my wife thought was on her rods, but it got off right away. That was it.

Third trip for us, 0 sturgeon landed.

Mike was that you I past on the way to the launch at about 12:45?

Red tips on the line?

My first thought it would have been you, based on the kind of boat(you fished upstream from me once about 2-3 years ago).
