2008 MS Deer Hunting Contest Sign-Up

If you would like to enter the “2008 M-S Deer Hunting Contest” please read the following:

-Deadline for entry will be 11:59PM Sunday September 7th, 2008
-Sign up soon as possible as the contest is limited to 200 members. First come, first serve
-If you miss the deadline do not send PM’s to any of the contest managers begging to put you in. If someone drops we will let you know, and if there is an overabundance of members which can not get in we will consider other options. However at this time after 11:59 pm on Sept 7th all signing up will be done with and NO more people will be added after that date.
-Please thoroughly read all contest rules in the thread titled “2008 M-S Deer Hunting Contest Rules and Guidelines” as disqualification will be 100% your fault!
-DO NOT post anything in this thread but the following:

To sign up make a post including the following (type out all parts):

Username
Years you’ve been deer hunting.
Weapon (not season) you will be hunting with: bow, gun, or combo (bonus 2 points for your team for choosing bow or gun only)
The region in which a majority of your hunting will take place: SLP, Mid-LP, NLP, or UP

A few final things to remember before you sign up.

1) Only sign up if you are going to be an active and contributing member on your team. Last year there was some problems with people signing up and then never coming back or not being a team player. Now I now that there are some of you here that don’t post much and that’s fine. But for this contest you will need to be a little more vocal and let your team know that you are still around. Even if you don’t shoot a deer post in your teams thread 1 or 2 times a week to let them know what’s been going on, how your season has been and where you will be hunting next. If you become someone that never participates with your team in discussions and let them know that you are still around then you will be removed from the contest and replaced with a new member who will participate. You owe it to the contest and your team to be a team player.

2) Make sure that you have read and understand all of the rules and guidelines for this years contest before signing up in this thread. I know that we all make mistakes and you will not be punished if you make a small one along the way. However if it is clear that you signed up for this contest without caring to read the rules and regulations first and become someone who we are constantly having to PM to have you fix your mistakes you will be disqualified.

3) Please remember that when you sign up today to give all of the information that we asked for above. It will be used to create even and fair teams. DO NOT just sing up by saying “im in” as that will make it clear you didn’t even take the time to read the rules or this post!

4) Finally remember that you are signing up as a gun, bow, or combo hunter! If you choose to be a gun or bow only hunter then you can only enter a deer that you shoot with that weapon you chose. (If you that sign up with a bow YES you can still enter a deer that you shoot with a bow even if it is shot during a gun season. As long as it was killed by bow you can still enter it.) Also remember that you can only submit 1 buck and 1 doe for scoring (the buck can be culled).
