Anyone use jiggin raps for walleyes or anything else? I have a hole that I would like to try but would not like to waste time.

If your talkin about the weighted raps that you tie to the middle of the bait than I would say no. Those I have only seen used ice fishin. Try a countdown or original rapala.

I've caught many walleyes and perch on a jiggin' Rap, but only through the ice. Never tried 'em on open water, but I don't see why they would not work. For open water jigging , I like using Do-Jiggers and Swedish Pimples, sometimes with a 1/2 crawler or a minnow.

the only reason I say this is that I have known producing spots and If it won't work, I would not even try.

I do apreciate the replies. Does anyone think they would work?

Yes I tried early in the year out on the Saginaw Bay when the fishing was almost a no brainer. I'd get one short of a limit then try different stuff. I used a small pearl/chartreuse #2 or 3 that I had used in that area during the winter and caught walleye and perch. I was marking lots of something and the bay was like glass. It took a half hour before I had a hit but it was a keeper walleye. Not sure if the boat shadow was spooking them as I was only in 12 fow at the time. I didn't have a minnow so I put a piece of crawler on the treble. It's difinitely not my go to set up. Also caught one on a leech and jig on one other trip.
