Can you put a drop away on a bow with the cable guard below the grip? My cousins son really wants a drop away on his micro midas 3 and I told him I would put one on it for him, but after looking at it and seeing the cable guard placement, I'm not sure I can. Thanks for any advice.

Yes you can. My sons both had the MM3 and I've installed several drop aways on their bows at one time or another. What is it exactly that has you concerned?

The only way I've personally ever installed the drop aways was to serve the activation cord into the down cable. I was just worried that the cable guard placement would interfere.

I don't recall that as being a problem.

I'm happy to hear that. I just assumed it would cause trouble, so I figured I would get some confirmation from more knowledgable folks before I started something I wouldn't be able to finish. Thanks!

You're right in your way of thinking. This can sometimes be a problem if the cams take up too much cable during the drawing process. You'll run the activation cord into the cable slide in some cases, if you're not very careful.
I doubt you'll have a problem on a youth bow with a short draw length, but in some other situations, this is undoable.

You'll have to run the cord a little longer and farther downt han normal to clear the cable slide but it doesn't otherwise interfere.
