Hey all,
I have a question regarding the Anchor Sight or Hind Sight. I am thinking of going peepless, I was curious if these things are just gimmicks or have any of you found success with these products?
Thank you for your time

As a peepless shooter that has not used anything to assist me, I can only say this- Check out the No-Peep http://www.strictlybowhunting.com/Anov01issue/timberline_review_JN.htm . I've heard many people say that it's a great tool in assisting you to become peepless and it's a heckuva lot less intrusive than either of the options you mentioned.

I've had both, and the Hind Sight is still on my bow. The Anchor site was nice, but it takes longer to set up, and is a lot more demanding to shoot well. On the plus side, once you get used to it you can be sure that your form is good, as that is the only way you'll be able to shoot with it.
As far as the Hind Sight goes, for me it just works well, and works much better than using a peep (glasses). It still forces you to shoot with good form (not to the extent of the Anchor), as if you torque the bow at all you'll instantly see it in the sight. Shooting in low light is much better as well.
The only downside to the Hind Sight is that you end up having a few more things hanging on your bow, but it's really not that bad. Just in case you are wondering, I have the eclipse model. I have a buddy that was a skeptic until he shot my bow a few times. He now has a Hind Sight.

Hey Nesbo,
I'll try to keep this short.
Anytime you can have a 2 point aiming vs an anchore point, it becomes more like a rifle.
I have been shooting a reversed front sight for many years that has worked well for me, very similer to the hind sight, and can be cheap to do.
My set up is a cobra style (dove tail type) on the front that is on an extended rail out from riser maybe 7 or 8 inches.
Reason for this is that the greater the distance between the 2 aiming points, the greater the accuracy.
Same dove tail type for the rear site but must be as far back to the string as possible without it hitting it after the shot.
Front I use a cross hair light apiture (light gathering) about an 1 inch dia.
Back sight I use a pin and center it on the cross hair.
Line em up, find target and shoot. Just like a rifle.
The nice thing about it is that you can create what works best for you as far as pins or ring combination and is the best that I have found for low light shooting.
There are pin gards on front and back to protect pins, with very little sight window blockage, that comes with other set ups.
Last night I just put a pin on for 100yds to shoot at balloons.
I would never ever take a shot at a deer over 30 yds, but this really helps with form and follow through and is really fun too.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I will probably go back to the peep as soon as I get my bow to the pro shop. My peep keeps rotating and I question if the gentleman who tied it in really did a satisfactory job. My best bet is to take it to Jay's. I have had this happen too many times at this place and end up going back to Jay's because they do great work for me.

A rotating peep is usually a sign of string stretch. ;)

I agree with Michihunter. If the peep is rotating, your string is probably stretching. You can always use some rubber tubing to keep it pointed in the right direction, though I hate that stuff and have been slapped with it a number of times.
The Hind Sight really is pretty nice once you get used to it. Another option is to install an anchor point on your string and not use a peep at all with a normal sight. I know lots of guys that shoot this way and as long as you are consistent and anchor the same every time, the results will be good.

yeah I shot the bow another 200 shots and had a new peep put in. A G5 5/16" meta peep.

All I will say is I started using the anchor sight last spring and it was the single best thing I ever did to my bow. It's very simple to set up. I've never used the hindsight but bought the anchor sight because it was touted to be much easier than the hindsight to set up. At least that was the overwellming answer I found on archery talk. I set it up myself and was shooting better than ever in a matter of hours. It all but eliminates hand torque. Well I suppose proper hand grip only eliminates hand torque but it at least makes you shoot the same way every time which helps accuracy. The extra 10/15 minutes of shootable light was a BIG bonus as well. The customer service is OUTSTANDING... they will walk you through setting it up if you need it and there is always someone there answering the phones.

Check out Kingswayarchery.com. Best no-peep sight I've ever used. Just like looking down the barrel of a gun.

That's pretty much the opposite of what I experienced. For me, the Hind Sight was a lot quicker/easier to set up, and it's easier to shoot with. The other thing that I could never quite get used to is the fact that you need to look away from the pins to make sure the Anchor Site is lined up. With the Hind Sight, you just need to make sure that the two sights are aligned, pick your pin, and let go.
I'm not trying to discount your experience. There's no doubt that the Anchor site, once you get it set up and you get used to it, is a very nice system. For me, the Hind Sight was just easier.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm just regurgitating 2nd hand info (although very redundant) from hours of internet searches, regarding setup ease. I never actually used the hindsight. I did find it rather easy to set up but I guess "easy" is a relative term. I couldn't imagine not using the A/S but maybe someday when I run across a rig with the hindsight I'll change my mind. Either way I bet we both agree peepless shooting is the way to go...:D

You got that right! My buddy was a die hard peep shooter until he tried my bow. The thing that really hit home with him was that we were shooting near dusk, and I was able to shoot when he could no longer see through his peep.

I swithced to the timbrline no peeep this year and don't plan on going back, after a few practice sessions barely need to glance at it.

I've used the Timberline No Peep for several years now; it now sits on my Reflex Buckskin with a VBG Hollow Pino sight and once again I'm dialed in waiting for October. No more peep sights on my hunting rigs ever! :)

Last year I got rid of my peep and just added a Kisser and saw a huge improvement on my shot groupings as well as my overall vision.. Especially during reduced light shooting..
I have never tried any hind sight products..

Hey Guys,
Has anyone had the opportunity to try out both the Timberline AND the Bow Anchor Sight? If so, then any input on differences?
I want to go peepless(after this season), but I'm still reseaching between the two mentioned above, the hind sight, and a red dot scopes that are available. The Bow Anchor Sight is at the top of my list, but I have more to learn about peepless shooting. I keep hearing pros and cons for each application.

Just looking for a little more detail before I start hitting the stores.
Thanks.
Good Luck this year....
