Heading there in the a.m. to pre-fish for a tournament. Fishermans Landing's $10 fee is a rip off... Grand Trunk get's the same and the ramp/lot is worse!!! Is there a free ramp on the lake anywhere?? I don't mind paying during a tournament (in fact, Fishermans lets us use the tournament $5 envelopes... which is nice really) but to pre-fish it starts to get expensive!
Any help appreciated!

If you have a Sate Park sticker you can launch out of Snug Harbor on the north side of the lake. It is a pretty nice launch.

There is a launch at the road end, don't know the name of the road. It is just a short distance before you get to snug harbor heading west.
Hope this helps a bit!

Mike the only ramp I know of is the one off of second street in North Muskegon. I have never used it but I have been around it alot. If you have a boat that drafts deep I wouldn't use it. There is alot of slab concrete and other goodies under the water at the launch. To get there go past the power plant and turn left at the light. Follow it up to the blinking light and turn left at the Wesco. Follow it down a few blocks and you will have to turn left before the bar and police station. Hope this helps

Thanks guys. I know that ramp Ryan... I actually have fished IN it before! LOL!! Don't think I could launch my boat there... it's pretty shallow and I'd have to back in quite a ways....
We ended up using the Grand Trunk ramp this morning... and man was the lake ROUGH!! 2-3 footers are no fun in a flat bottom bass boat!

You might want to try 2ND street on the North side.

The launch at Second street is real shallow. I was able to launch a jon boat out of there earlier this spring, but I had to back my truck way out there. There is a launch at the end of Weber road just down from Snug Harbor, but it is really shallow also. Neither of these have dock's and anything other than row boat would be tough to launch. If you plan on launching more than a couple of time's I would just spend the $25 on a State Park Sticker.

Other than the Bear Lake outflow area (much of the north shore east of the Bear Lake channel) which was chocolate milk brown...yes... nasty green color. And still no weeds to speak of.

I thought 2nd street ramp was going to be revamped..? (deepened, etc.)
Is there a fishing pier there also?
