Well I got some foam for free from a place that was closing with the intention of building myself a target. To say i'm very happy with the finished product would be an understatement.
It works very very well on my long bow. But obviously the arrow is a whole lot slower. My mathews drives the arrow all the way in so I have about seven inches sticking out.
I got six rolls of foam. Used almost one whole roll on this one target. Final Dimensions are 5' 5" Wide x A little over 3 foot. Was Four but I synched it down some more to stop my compound a little better.
Material Used :
2 4x4's Treated
24 24" Trex Deck Boards (top and bottom)
2 2x4's Treated
1 Roll of Foam
5 Ratchet Straps
10 Lag Bolts
I'm going to flip it over next and put the whole target on rollers. Can you say Basement Target for Winter! I already told my wife that's where it's going to end up. She didn't seem to like the idea. But that IS where it's going to go.
I was looking at some at Bass Pro Shops this weekend. $125 for around a 28" x 28" so my 66" x 40" would have really cost me some money to buy! All in all I think I have about $10 in it. I already had everything except the 4x4's from past construction projects.
Now to build Five more! I can have league in my basement! :lol:
