I was just curious if anyone uses Thunderheads anymore.
I notice on recent threads that request broad head feedback,
No one even mentions these broad heads.
Personally I use them and they fly great and animals tip over with in 30 yard's
I can't recall how many animals I have killed with Thunder heads but I watched nearly every one of my victims go down. I even use them on turkey. Most of the hunters in my archery club used them years ago.
I have stood back and watched the mechanical craze and decided not to go there.
Instead I focus on a responsible shot and shot distance. I don't need longer range shots, because
"Personally" I don't think shooting animals on a long shot good to do. Unless it’s a follow up shot for what ever reason. I have no desire to change heads but would like to know what the majority thinks. Keeping an open mind is important, right ?
Thanks.

I have been using Thunderhead 125's ever since I changed over from 4-blade 140 gr. Wasp broadheads in the 80's. I think the expandable craze started out of necesity caused by increased speed. After a point most fixed-blades will wind plane. I think accuracy and shot selection are way more important than the broadhead; put most any head through both lungs and you basically have a dead deer withn 100 yards.

T-Head 125's were the sharpest replacement blade on the market when they came out, they were well ahead of the curve.
But like Joe said as my bow speed increased so did erratic arrow flight and the occasional flyer.
I switched over to the NAP spitfire when they became available and haven't felt the need to switch, excellent flight and performance on every deer I have shot.
If I ever the need to switch broadheads again I would take a serious look at the lower profile and rotating fixed heads from NAP, great company.

Same as previously mentioned, started using 125's back in the early 80's and have never even thought about changing or trying anything else since then! :D
I still have most of my orginal ferrals, have only had to buy the blades! ;)

Me and my son been using Thunderheads 100s for 6 years. We get pass thru shots 90% of the time. I get pass thru shots at 35 yards. I will never change. Why change, they work for me.

Still using TH100s here. Mechanical heads and Drop-Away rests frighten and intimidate me:yikes:. The moving part you leave off will never fail you.

Glad to see some folks sharing in the Thunderhead glory. I have used them for 10 years, since I began bowhunting, and they are grrrrrrreat! I will never shoot any other head, as I have never had a problem. I have only ever shot 2 deer that were not complete pass through's, one of which was a cracker in the shoulder with 45 lbs(not a good idea although i recovered the deer after a couple hours and a half mile:lol:) and the other was the 1st deer I shot, a 3 1/2 year old 4 point that held the arrow in him for about 20 yards. I LOVE my thunderheads, as Wildcoy said, try and take them away and see what happens

I just can't part with my Thunderhead 125's. They are the trueist flying broadhead I have shot out of my bow. Like everyone says, its all about shot placement and I haven't needed a 2" hole yet ;)

Used em exclusively for 20 years until G5 came around and produced the Montec in 2001. I liked the thought of a one piece broadhead and tried them. Bought 6 of them that year and had great success with them as well. I still have 5 of them and will continue to use them because that one time investment has produced 7 deer without a need to replace blades, merely touch them up with a sharpening stone.

I have been bow hunting for 16 years and Thunderheads are all that I have used. I have tried a couple others fixed brands and they haven't compared. I never have and never will try a mechanical head. I have many friends that have tried them all and they now shoot Thunderheads b/c they out perform the others
