Launched the boat today at the Marine City ramp for a little test run. I thought for some reason that all the moron boaters would be home by now. BIG MISTAKE. Way to many boats, way to many idiots on the river. Even the sail boat people heading to PH were dinks. Running 50 feet away from me trolling down stream:rolleyes:.
Anyway they had a sign in the window at the guard shack that said " No shore fishing allowed". The guy said that people were leaving all kinds of trash, so they shut fishing down. Sounded reasonable to me but then I thought wait a minute, its a state run facility. Paid for by tax dollars. How can they just all the sudden limit the use for which it was partially intended? Yeah the slobs are the reason they did it and it was warranted, but now they closed it to all the reasponsible people who dont have a boat.
What do you shore fishing guys think about that? Have they done it in other DNR Ramps?
