Fished South Lake Friday 9/27 from 7:15-dark after the rains cleared up. The bass were turned on, I got 6 largemouth 9-14" in a little over an hour. I fished the edge of a very steep drop, using an 1/8 oz. jig with a pumpkin with sparkle curly tail grub. I cast the jig into the shallow water, and dragged it over the dropoff letting it fall. The bass all hit seconds after the lure went over the drop. I think fishing will continue to be good on this lake until it gets too cold and blustery to be out there.

My wife was with me, and I told her, "We ought to see a deer drink from the shore soon." Not 20 seconds later I heard a crashing sound from the woods, and a doe popped her head out of the thick brush on the shore. She saw us in the boat and bolted right away. That was pretty fun.

Weather was upper 60s, very light breezes and mostly clear skies, once Isidore did her business and left town.

I've been wanting to fish that lake all year and have not found the time. Sounds like a good lake from what you said and what I have heard from others. Man I need to get out and fish period.
