Has anyone been up to Hamlin Lake lately after the flooding. I'm going up there in a couple weeks and need to know if there are any detours to get to upper Hamlin.

I'm going up in a couple weeks as well. Just talked to Barnharts and he said that from Jebavy you take Angling to Beune to Fountain and back to Jebavy to get around the closure. I am going to be up in Indian Pete Bayou. Where abouts are you staying?
The twp site says that the Wilson Park launch needs to be dredged and it may be difficult to launch. I have also been reading that there are huge weed floats along the north shore of the upper lake. Says that they are hiring a barge to net them out.
Hope this helps.

Hey dad,
Kinda funny to see you here. But thanks, and do you know when the barge is coming in?

remembering a few trips on hamlin from days of yore... try poking a pegged t-rig power worm through those giant floating weed masses.....

Dude
I agree, a good place to fish but it sounds like it is a nuisance for the homeowners on the lake. The storm must have really stirred up the lake and tore alot of weeds out....not sure what to expect fishing up there this year. I've got two weeks so I am sure I will find them....maybe just not in the regular places.
