I caught a gobi (y, not sure) in the clinton at riverbends park in shelby and was wondering if anyone else has had my luck or curse.

Just about any water that is connected to the big lakes will have gobies in it now. So I can't say lucky or unlucky, but if you spend long enough in a river chances are you're going to get one.

It was likely a chub not a gobie, that area has a lot of chubs - Bryon

DE82, I know for a fact it was a gobi. i have taken its picture and it is the same as on the iowa dnr site as a round gobi.

There is a U of M article that says that a researcher figures 83% of the entire fish population in the Flint river is the round goby. It's scary how many of those buggers there are, but I've heard that people have found them in the stomachs of smallmouth.. Maybe the big boom will make the sport fish population grow? That's all we can hope for I guess..

http://www.iowadnr.gov/fish/news/exotics/goby.htmlI've been fishing there all year and haven't seen anybody get a gobbie, I have however seen a lot of people get these

and in good numbers when bait fishing.

gobies are everywhere now-or will be soon. Last week I was hiking in the Hocking Hills (Ohio) area. There were gobies in the tiny mountain streams. I was shocked.

Good thing is though-they make a really good forage for a lot of fish like perch, bass and walleye.

A couple of years ago, I was trolling harnesses in Lake St. Clair right by the mouth of the Clinton, and I caught a few of them.

Well, not sure who your phone provider is/what kinda phone you have. What I do is just send a picture message to my e-mail address, save that pic to my desktop, upload it to my photobucket account, then copy/paste the [IMG]filename[IMG] tag in the thread and poof there it is.

Hope this helps so you can prove to the nay-sayers what you actually got.

Just to be clear, I'm not calling you a liar. I'm just telling you what I've seen from fishing there all year. - Bryon
