think the walleye and perch have slowed a little bit but the whitefish are hitting in the st. mary's. walleye should pick up again soon in the st mary's.
wonder why

The Saint Maries River is on of Michigans best trophy pike fisheries. There is a Salmon hatchery in the Edison power plant along the river, there are some real nice perch and walley fishing too.

The soo is great fun for salmon ( all species ). Trolling in front of the Edison Soo power plant is my favorite spot. The pink salmon come back heavy every other year and the Atlantic salmon return early to the power plant where Lake Superior State college rears them in the lower level. White fish can be caught on wigler flies at the discharge tubes of the power plant also. Many other species are also available at certain times of the year. ( great steelhead fishing in the rapids alongside the locks )
The St. Mary's River is also well known for pike, perch and waleye.

I think I am going to put in at Brimley Bay since its close to where I am staying. If were to put in for lower St Marys what launch would I use and where is it?
wonder why

the best launch to use is aune osborn launch located on portage ave. here in the soo. there is a really nice fish cleaning station here. it is located next to aune osborn campground and the sugar island ferry. if you have anymore questions pm me.
