I know there is Lake michigan there but I have a 16 foot boat so conditions have to be right. My boss has a bunk house there & told me i can use it anytime. Any good inland lakes for pan fishing there?

Hamlin Lake for sure. I am not sure what shape it is in after all the rain last week.

Hamlin, PM and Lincoln are all good lakes to try.

My parents live on upper Hamlin and they said the lake levels have gone down to near normal levels since the storm last Friday. However, getting there is another story...alot of the area roads are still washed out.

I hear the levels are just about back to normal, but the fish are biting despite the off color water. As a matter of fact the day after the storm when the lake came up 2 1/2 feet I heard a guy that came in off the lake say he did really well on the walleye !!

What's the deal with the parasites?

I've fished Hamlin for almost 40 years. There have been times where some of the panfish do have the parasites. Some of the heavily covered ones I throw back but a few aren't a problem. I've read numerous articles on the subject and the cooking process eliminates any problems with the spots.
