Got a 16ft lund, couldn't find a red model, but the camo color is growing on me. I need some ideas as far as different seats to mount, as well as rod holders, and a basic(inexpensive) B&W fishfinder that offers speed.

Thanks

Nice boat! Its hard to beat a Lund. Solid stable well made. I just picked up an old 16 ft Alumicraft with almost the same layout. Small budget on my side.

I have a Eagle 250 GPS graph combo. About 200 bucks at Gander. Does everything I will ever need. Nice B/W graph and the GPS feature is worth the extra bucks IMO. tells speed, position, mega way points, course, direction etc etc.

Seats, I just have the plastic swivel with small cushion attached type in mine that mount to the bench. The only down side is if you dont have a cover on the boat and it rains the cushion part will get wet.

I'm looking for a Bimini top for mine to keep from frying my skull in the sun. Anyone have a Bimini on a 16 fter like his?

Nice boat!

You need to get a half sheet of marine plywood and lay it across the bow. Then trace a line from underneath and make a deck for the front so you can mount that new bow mount trolling motor you are going to want. Plus you can hide your battery up there nice and neat out of th way with a little hatch cover. :-D

Nice rig, Dave

I had the 14' DLX. (No benches). What a rocket with a 25

How's your old man doing?

Nice and congrats. When I was looking and researching, the 16' Lunds really had my attention. Ended up with a used Star Craft, but its a treat to see a fellow get a new boat. Enjoy the makeover and process of customizing it to fit your needs.

Does the floor option on that SSV include flooring between the bow and the front bench? The Lund brochure doesn't say and they don't show any full interior SSV floor pics, just midship to transom. Was just curious. I really like the 18' SSV with the full floor and front troling motor/anchor deck. Those SSV's are a great layout for a utility V.

The drop in floor is only from behind the front seat to the back seats. The front part is flat aluminum ahead of the first seat. Plenty of room up front.

Add about 4 dozen duck decoys to the list

I looked at that same rig when I bought three years ago, but bumped up to the full-blown Alaskan instead. Yep, Lund makes a great boat indeed.

Take a look at the clearance shelves at Gander. I picked up an Eagle Cuda 240/s for $89..... ($99 clearance with another $10 off coupon.)

The only I do not like about the unit is it lacks a split screen function for the GPS/PLotter and the Fish Finder.

I ordered the Eagle cuda 250. Hope to get it mounted for this weekend, I mounted the rod holders and tried her out this weekend. Put the first walleyes in the boat.

Same one I have. Its a 20 minute job mounting the tranducer and powering it up. I picked up a swivel base for mine that attaches to the normal base. Makes it nice depending on what type of fishing your doing and where you or your passengers are sitting.

I thought I would post a couple of pics of the layout of my boat. I'm still waiting for my motor to get fixed (Hopefully I will get it today) so I had some time to kill. I mounted my gas tank forward and just picked up a new, longer fuel line to help shift some of the weight and also mounted my rod holders on the front bench. That center seat isnt screwed down yet. I wasnt sure if it was going to stay there or not? I may just take it out completly and make the third or fourth person, do without a swivel seat.

My GPS is mounted or the left side of the rear bench just out of the picture.

on my other boat I always left the middle seat out. It seemed to get in the way alot, of course I usually just fished with 2 people. If you have a 3rd they get the throwable cushion to sit on.:)

Nice boat! I love Lunds (I own 2!).

Last year, I installed a Lowrance X-125 B&W fishfinder and really like it. $300 @ Gander.

This is the web site for Eagle or Lowrance Parts (http://www.lei-extras.com/store/search.asp?SearchType=Unit&Unit=Cuda+250+S%2FMap)
The swivel mount is like 14.95 plus S & H worth it IMO
