View Full Version : Force Outboard Problems
Put the boat in Saturday ( 94 18ftTrophy w/ 90Hsp Force outboard) ran great. Father's day take a couple dads out for some walleye fishing in Algonac. Motor a little hard to start but finally started. Started out of canal and when I hit the throttle all the way the motor booged and stalled. After 3 or 4 times turned around and parked the  boat. We ended up at Snoppy's. Topped of fuel tank in fall w/ stabil and Seafoam. Changed non gaping plugs on Friday, while changing water pump. Any suggestions or simular experiences?

Make sure carbs are getting gas. Had similar problem a few years back and found out the float needle stuck on on of the carbs, fixed it but the damage was already done, got out there, opened her up and BAM. Knocked a hole right through the case. Must of been starving that cylinder of gas too long and scored it up enough to blow. Something to check anyway. Good luck.

sounds like a fouled plug. I have a 95' 120 force. If it is pre-mix the oil in the tank like mine, It says DO NOT PUT STABILIZER in the tank.

Fuel pump? My Johnson outboard did the same thing last fall. Hard to start would idle out the canal, but as soon as I gave her the juice it would just die. It was the fuel pump.

Check your primer bulb, and the sceen filter where the gas line connects to the motor. I had a similar problem last year. Turned out to be the gas line. 20 yr old line was cracking and sucking air. New line fixed the problem. Was the primer bulb staying hard or was it collapsing?
