How do Hoyt's adjust DL? I am a 28inch but may be interested if DL is adjustable with out changing cams etc.
Thanks

Either way $639 for a brand Katera is one heck of a deal Mike;)

My point is that it really isnt 25% off because he wasnt selling them for msrp. I hate most of the dealers in my industry that advertise a sale then jack up there prices.

If you have ever been into my store and looked, you would see all Hoyts marked at MSRP.....all the time.
I do not raise prices before a sale.
My COST on that bow is more than the 639 I am selling it for now.
If you have a dealer in your area that is selling them for the 565 you stated in your PM to me, than do as I said in my reply to you.....buy it....it is a great deal.
I do not get as good of a deal on Hoyts as a Dealer buying huge volumes of them per year, so my costs are higher.

thats true and i do apologize. I did pick up one already today. I just dont know very many dealers that actually sell for msrp.lol and yes my dealer does sell a lot of hoyts.

(4-18-2008)It has everything to do with how it feels and shoots. I dont care what they look like. I shoot them all. I use some of the specs to help a little bit. Brace height was always a huge one for me but i just bought a hoyt katera a month ago with a 6 inch brace height. With the technology progressing the way it has and how the bows perform now brace height isnt a big factor anymore.
You bought ANOTHER Katera???
Looks like you just bought one in April.....

I sure did. I actually sold the first one. Someone offered me a brand new elite synergy and $400 for my katera so i sold it. But i liked the katera better than i do the elite so i bought another katera.

I've heard a few others have been unhappy with the Synergy also.
What didn't you like about it?

hey Ninja. Are the draw lengths adjustable on the hoyts (like with modules) or are the cams DL specfic? I am a 28in DL and would be interested in getting a new bow (particulary) a hoyt to play around with, but would need to adjust the DL.

Man, a $600-$640 Elite and $400 cash for your Katera? That person was dumb as rocks!! Good deal for you though!
So far I love my Synergy and will add another Elite to the stable at some point. If I had the extra money, I'd buy one of those kateras off Ninja....nice bows for sure.

The elite is nice i still have it but it wasnt the same as the hoyt. The hoyt is by far alot better quality bow. Its just built better from top to bottom. I will keep the elite as well.

I'm a Hoyt fan, always have been but I'm not sure I agree with that statement. They both use laminated limbs...Hoyt there own, Elite Barnsdale, both known far and wide as some of the top limbs in the industry. Both run bearings instead of bushings. Elite offers an arguably better string from the factory (unless the Fuse strings have been improved upon a bunch) Both offer excellent machining on the risors and both offer excellent grips. My Elite is black, but their camo dipping I've seen has been top notch, on par with anything from Mathews, and Mathews is considered the standard by which all are judged. Hoyt camo finish though is the weakest part of the design.....I've looked at a bunch of them over the last few years and it never fails, their dipping is sub par compared to the competition and compared to what they used to offer a few years back. Now, that has nothing to do with the performance, and the Hoyts flat out perform but it's also unacceptable for a top end bow. Wouldn't stop me from purchasing one mind you because at the end of the day, the deer won't care. And I like all of Hoyts cam systems from the original cam.5 to the current generation (didn't like the trykon...nobody else did either apparantly)
So, I'm not bashing Hoyt but they are similar in overall build quality. Now some QC may have fallen thru the cracks at Elite as it is a company in constant stransition it seem at this point, but man, their potential is scary good.
I thought the Vulcan was the sweetest 6" brace height bow I had shot, but then I shot the Katera....it took the top spot!

The Vulcan and the Vetrix, possibly the Katera if my shoulder could stand up to 70lbs (which I doubt).

Dont get me wrong i like the elite. It is faster than the katera and is really flat shooting. But when you go back and forth between the two of them you can feel the difference in quality between the two of them. I am keeping both of them.

I would speculate the the dealer selling the hoyt's at that price on the westside would be located in Jackson and takes out 2 page ads in the Woods-n-water mag.
I have working in the bow world for about 16 years and I have never, and I know this is just me, ever seen a hoyt limb break or splinter. I know that it happens, it must, but I haven't seen it. The other bows mentioned however I have seen splinter or crack more frequently. To me, the Hoyt has the most dependable construction of any bow on the market it is the workhorse of the bow world. And the shotability of the Hoyt is awesome too, IMO
