that you're hunting with this year. this is my late fathers crossbow that he gave me last year. a horton legend 175# i adapted a weaver base on the scope for my nikon camcorder. i am shooting easton xx75's 2219 with aftershock 80 grain exspandables. i took a nice 4 point with it last year at 35 yards, double lung.

yes it does.:D now with my dad having passed i am sure his spirit will guide my every bolt to its intended target. it takes alot of getting used to trying to shoot that bow compared to my compound, a major difference up in a tree. i had a hell of a time trying to get a shot at that 4 point with those bow arms being sideways (the tree i was in got in the way) versus vertical. had i been using my pse i would have taken him at 20 yards maximum instead of the 35 yard shot. i just wish i had that camcorder on it when i shot him so dad could have seen it. i didn't own a camcorder then i just got it this year.

And to think this man is a 100% disable vet and it took him years to get a permit. That is whats wrong with our current system. those that need them have to fight to have a permit. Michigan is going in the right direction by allowing us all to use the crossbow.
I bet the deer did not know it was shot with a crossbow.
Way to go Marty. what tat thing has limbs, cams, string, a carbon shaft, a broadhead, and a red dot scope. Looks alot like my XI magnum just a bit smaller and heavier.

I want to display a specific website and pictures from that site. Unrelated to this particular thread. I do have a nice 15 pointer on my wall I would like to show off but it was taken with a shotgun. In my time of bow hunting I never once shot a deer with my bow. That was from 84 to 94. I saw more than I can remember but I rack hunted back then and let all the does and and small bucks walk. In 89 I received my first crossbow for my birthday. I kept it in storage until this year. I will be hunting with it for the first time this season. My son was born in 92 and money was tight so all the archery gear got sold except for the gift crossbow in 94. I have gun hunted ever since. Some muzzle loader hunting too.
That should dispel another myth. When you have the freedom of choice you hunt with what you like when you like. It's taken me 19 years to use my xbow. I will probably take at least 1 doe with it this year if I get the chance.
I had a doe walk directly under my tree stand one year. She even stood under me for a good 30 seconds. Being young and stupid I actually considered jumping on it with my knife and taking it by hand. Talk about primitive hunting! The vision of me falling on the knife and the deer then proceeding to kick my brains out got the better of me.

Here's the video from this Spring's Gobbler hunting. Took 2 with the xbow but did not get the first one on video. A few of the stills are from previous years.

Nice video ;)Good shot on the tom. That other tom didn't know how close he was to death. did he?? Double bull blind??Matrix. I chased that other one hard. He's the one leaving the field. He never got close enough to get him. We get 3 gobbler tags here. Trying to tag out with the xbow. I've got 2 twice with the xbow but # 3 has not happened yet.

I doubt that particular model would meet the draw weight requirements for hunting in my state. It would be too big and heavy to move around. I'll assume you are going to stationary hunt from the ground with it? How sportsmanlike of you. You would be at a far less disadvantage if you chose a more traditional hand held model that can be carried into a tree stand in my opinion. Maybe you guys will have draw weight limitations too when the law passes? I know it's a bit premature but has this been discussed?

 just kidding, the draw weight is 150lb minimum currently(with permit)
I havnt bought one yet. I have a few friends that have them, I will be watching for a sale this summer. I will probably buy a horton as I like them best of the ones I have shot.... Unless ten point offers a good deal to the guys who helped get them legalized;)
