1979 johnson 70 hp. before replacing the power pack and hull censor the middle plug didn't have a spark. After replacing the two had great spark on all 3. Started right up twice then nothing. checked the spark plug agian middle one isn't firing again. I didn't tighten the flywheel down really tight before starting :dizzy: and snapped off the timing pinning, guessing becuase the flywheel was loose eough for some play, causing metal shaving to get in to the hull sensor. Is this the cause for the middle plug to not have any spark and didn it fry my new sensor. Coils test out to be fine. Man I can't believe I left that flywheel a little lose:rant:.

Timing pin? If by this you mean key-way then I think you need to pull the flywheel clean out any derbies put in a new key, put her back together and then start your trouble shooting .
You can start the process by swapping things around and elimination.(sometimes it just a plug with a crack in the porcelain.
You should be able to swap the #1 coil with the #2 coil at the switch-box, if the problem moves you know the coil is good and you can move them back. Then you can move the trigger leads at the switch-box if the problem dose not move then it’s probably the switch -box if it moves to another cyl then the problem is probably under the flywheel.
