I have a 1996 Sea Nymph FM141 that I bought last summer. One of the pedestals won't come out of the base. The release button works fine it just seems to be stuck in there from probably being in there since 1996. Other than WD-40 and some sweat, what else could I try? Thanks.

Soak with PB Blaster and let it sit over night.

I had the same trouble with the seat on the front casting deck of my boat. It wouldn't budge from the time i bought the boat last july, but about a month ago my cousin and I were doing a few things to the boat and his 11 year old son decided he'd try and get the seat loose for me while we worked on other stuff.......took him about 45 sec. and it was out and has worked fine since. I asked him what he did to get it out, but he doesn't know,...... go figure:lol::dizzy:

I had the same predicament last week. First tried wd40 and a clamp and tapped it with a hammer.
I had to eventually removed the mount from the floor and tap the seat pole out of the mount from the bottom. Then it came out in 5 seconds.

Sounds like a little Corrosion of the Aluminum base. I second the PB Blaster.
Works like a dream. Doesnt take that much of it because it is a penatrating oil.

Spraying the plastic base with any good "dry" silicone spray on a weekly basis will help a lot. WD 40 and other wet oil based sprays usually compounds the problem.
I had one I ended up taking a rubber strap wrench to. Once I got it to budge it came out easily.

Alternate the ice wrapped in a towel and some hot water at the junction - a few whacks with a 2x4 in between......or unscrew the entire base and beat out from bottom

Another vote for PB blaster.
But if you have a decent heat gun, try to heat the base for a bit and see what happens. That may work without having to use any PB.
