I have a 16ft. V bottom fishing boat. My Anchor is Diamond shaped and is 60lbs. It is mounted on the bow of the boat. When I am anchored down my boat sways from side to side real bad especially in the wind or fast currants. I don't let out a whole lot of rope just enough to hold the boat, Maybe that's my problem. If some one could help me make some fine adjustments please HELP. Thanks, Ray:D

Depending on where you're fishing, you could just cast another anchor off the stern. This should help some if the ropes are tight.

Sometimes perch fishing we anchor off the back of the boat. This keeps the boat really straight, but in wavy conditions could be dangerous in a small boat. Try an extra anchor off the stern first.

I'm assuming your in the river?

Do you keep your motor down?

2 anchors off the bow, each set 45 degrees off the bow will stop sway in a small boat without the inherent dangers of stern anchoring in a small boat.

Yes, I am in the River.

No I do not leave the motor down. Will that make a difference. I hate to get snagged up into the prop.

Leaving your motor down should make a world of difference.

Also remember to put out 3 to 5 times lenght of anchor line to the depth of water in calm, and 5 to 7 times in rough water...:D
