Let one go

Well I had four toms within 100 yards most of the morning. Went to a different location to set up on them and try something different. Got my decoys set and on my way to the tree I was going to sit at,There he was a jake at about 15 yards. He didn't notice my so I pulled up my gun got ready to shoot. Thats when morality struck. The no trespassing sign was about half way between me and the bird, And the law says bearded turkey,well I couldn't see the beard.
Doing the right thing isn't always easy but it is the right thing to do. I hope to God I get payed back for My good deed.

I guess the way I look at it is I had a successful season now. It's kind of like getting accepted into harvard and turning it down, you still got accepted.

I most definetly will keep in the hunt. Got beat by a hen this morning. Had four toms gobbling within 200 yards but by 6:30 they had flown down and stopped gobbling I tried to get ahead of where I thought they would go ,but by the time I got there I heard a hen calling. I got one more gobble and back onto the private land they went.
I guess that's why they call it hunting.
