Bought a new lund 1950 Tyee Magnum and gas guage doesnt work took back to dealer he ordered a new guage but vdo marine said to have me bring the boat back (132 MI round trip) at end of season and dealer will pull cluster and send it back for repair take boat and store bring it back in spring.... have callled lund no help and recieved call from VDO marine the said same policy would you accept this on a new Lincoln? Any help out here or suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Eventually you will get ahold of somebody who cares about there customers. Tell them to order it and send you to a closer dealer.
Sucks when spend that kinda money and are disapointed like that.
But you know boats there is always gonna be something wrong with them or something that has to be fixed.

CaptJak, I know they should fix it with no inconvenience to you. In order to save you a hassle, I would check the ground wire to the tank, as this is a common problem.

Is your dealer 100% positive that the gauge is the problem. Did they test the sending unit and wiring in addition to the gauge.

Besides Faria, VDO is a top quality gauge manufacturer. I am not saying that every gauge they make is defect free but it is some thing to think about?

:mad: lund's guarintee is a bunch of CRAP. I ended up repairing my 1890 Pro-V Myself because of all the BS and expence it would require in order to get it fixed under "Warrinty" :cool:
