I was up north near the Bellaire area a couple weeks ago and the local news was saying there was a burning ban...I tried to find on the DNR site if there is indeed a list of counties where the bans were, but could only find the post from last summer.
Does anyone know if there is still a burning ban? And would it ( I am hoping it does) include fireworks in and around forests?
appreciate any help

If there is a Burning Ban in affect. That includes Fireworks as well. I talked to my brother who works for the US Forest Service as a Forest Fire Fighter. He told me this. Although he did say that they can have different levels of the ban.
How ever with the coming rain we are getting this week. That banned could be lifted. The DNR and National Forest Service can issue burning bans due to dry weather. But after a significant amount of rain the banned can be lifted.

Every spring there is a burning ban of some type in effect up here, it seems, mostly due to a lack of rain prior to green-up. Once the leaves are on and we've had some rain, the DNR will usually issue permits. The burning bans usually don't apply to campfires and things like fireworks unless it's a total statewide burning ban.
