I will be hitting the lake in a couple of weeks. Just wondering what colors of soft plastics work best. I like fishing black combinations. Do more natural colors work better? Thanks.

I just went to Lake Chemung in Livingston County last weekend. Caught a couple small mouth bass but that's about it. Do you know any other good bass lakes in Oakland, Livingston, or Monroe county?

Ive caught them on a crawler and a creek chub, and a top lure. Just depends on what they wanted. Today it seems they weren't hungry for either of those. Gills liked the minnows and the bullheads liked the worms tho.

The bass seem to hit on the surface lures, just a twitch and bam. That is some fun stuff.

Just came back from fishing there last weekend, it was a blast, and by that I mean the wind was really howling on the water.

But the fishing was wierd, females still with eggs up there, but the water temp was reading 58 deg to 61 deg, I was getting the 61 degrees on the TM transducer that is 24" in the water. Did pretty good with white spinner baits on the pike, drop shot rigs on the bass and the berkly 4" minnows in walleye pattern. 30 Bass and 12 Pike Saturday. Just seemed like you would have to grid the lake and work over an area at a time. My first stop was out of the launch, left around the bend and start fishing.

Have a great time
Cya,
