Supposedly 58 inches and the one in the mouth was a little smaller.:yikes: The big one ate the little one while the angler was bringing it in (the little one).

I heard it was caught in the Detroit River and is a new world record.
He caught it on a wax worm and a slip bobber.

Does it really count if the hook wasn't actually in its mouth?

The guy that caught the fish was a guy by the name of Rompola and was eaten by a cougar once he reached the harbor.:dizzy:

yeahh its 58inches. it rests in a pool of water thats 60inches wide and 16inches deep. the pool of water is located deep in the manistee national forest only accessable from the air. nearby you will find the fabled sword in the stone and the ark of the covenant both guarded by bigfoot and his pet cougar.

Let me set the record straight.
I caught the top fish in 2006 on a baby bald eagle zip tied to a treble hook while fishing 6th Street Dam in GR for steelhead... the larger fish hit the smaller one on the way in. The 2nd pic is my brother in law Hank. He shot that big sob w/ a crossbow in 40 FOW up in manitoba. He's a badass.

Do you guys think that the angler in the picture has ANY IDEA how big a superstar he is here in the States? The man should have his own postage stamp or something. :D
The fish is from Europe, if I'm not mistaken.

I don't know about the top one, but the lower pic is indeed real.....it just ain't from the Americas, North, Central or South. I thought it was from the Netherlands or somewhere close to it.

I heard that when the taxidermist was preparing the fish for mounting, that he found Jonah (from the Bible) inside it. Seems ole Jonah had just overcome his fear of swimming, and had been convinced to give fresh water a try. He'll never make that mistake again.
I also heard a rumor that the actual angler who caught that fish was none other than Britney Spears. Who would have thought?

You're totally right. She caught it on a fly tied from her own hair. It was so successful, she shaved it all off to mass produce them....

I saw one TWICE this big today out at Fletchers. Took off with my Bluegill I was reeling in, that was in the process of getting ate by a nice largemouth but then this 40 inch pike was gobbling up the bass when this HUGE monster came up and took ALL of it.
