Me and a few buddies went to bass lake near empire on sunday. Caught about 20 largemouths between us. About 12 were over 14 inches with one I caught was 4lbs and a few where over 2lbs. We released all the fish we caught bass arent the bes eaters.:) Overall was a great day to be on the water.

Yesterday was definitely a beautiful day to be on the water. I hit Stevens Lake (northeast Benzie county) and could have caught bass all day there I think. Most were 12-15 inches but a few nice ones thrown in. Plus I hooked into a number of very nice bluegill. I put them all back too.
Is the Bass Lake you were on the one just north of School Lake? School Lake has 1 or 2 spots that are a blast for pike if you've never been there. If that's the same Bass Lake, is there a launch for it? I've never been on it, been to School Lake a number of times.
But you're right, absolutely wonderful day to be out on the water.

You guys should try Upper Herring lake too!! There are a TON of bass in there.... and a boat load of master angler sized rockbass that really put up a good fight when I was there 2 weeks ago.

Thanks as always for the tip waterfoul. I've been meaning to give that lake a try, though its a little to big for me and my canoe. My buddy still hasn't gotten his boat out this year!
By the way, finally made it onto Lake Ann a couple of weeks ago. So cold and windy though, the fishing was awful!

Fisherman 6-
I know where you're talking about now, thank you. School Lake is off of 669, just south of 22. A little bit west of Little Traverse Lake.

You're welcome, best of luck. Look for a shallow water pathway opposite the boat launch. Also make sure you have a park pass, they can be sticklers there.

One thing i also forgot to mention is you also need a park pass at bass lake.
