Yeah Paul, that sound like grounds for dismissal………………………………….for your boss! :p I’m still undecided. I kind of hate to give up on hungry Perch to go chase slime but we’ll see. I just never seem to do well early in the season. 3 years ago I boated 6 on the opener but the last couple I haven’t done squat.

I am up for it, although I only have an 18 footer so where is everyone going?I can't make the run to Canada unless its a real nice day.

I had it scheduled off, actually the whole week. My right hand man (and good friend) went in for a "minor" hernia operation a month ago. Never got better. Losing weight like crazy. He got put in the Beaumont ICU yesterday, last I heard there is internal bleeding from source(s) as yet undetermined. I don't even feel like fishing anyhow.

Lot of us just stay around the upper lake. Metro and points north.

Got a job Saturday, and the opening day's likely to be a freak show anyway. Looks like early next week I'll hit it a few times.

I'm fishing it in my 19'. We managed to boat one off New Baltimore last year, so that's where we'll be.

68 is the channel I normally monitor, and I think that is what we used last year. If it gets too busy on there , we could switch to 72. We use that on the West MI fishing league and it cuts down on the kids playing with the radio.

Just a reminder, please keep the chatter clear at the top of the hour, ch. 68. Tournament standings are announced every hour, sometimes kinda hard to get when 9 million guys are yapping:lol: Thanks...

I'm booked both days of the Holyest weekend of the year. It has been a long winter and lousy spring season. Muskie are really healthy this year from all the reports out there. Good Fishing All. Bob

MOMC monitors Channel 80, on VHF. Please keep Ch 80 clear at the top of the hour, just as Unreel stated, but 80, not 68.

Muskee Nick and I will be down in the River chasing mr toothy. In times past Anchor Bay has produced nothin but a few follows for us on the opener.
Also fishing the PMTT tournement in Sept. so we need to learn as much of the river as we can.
I hope everyone has a safe and fun fish filled day.

Where are some public launch sites near the upper DR other than Alter Rd., which I hear fills up long before my nighthawk derriere is out there?
Any good launch sites near the upper channel & lower SC River?
I'm not equipped for long, fast boat rides, and definitely want to concentrate on the rivers and deeper channels once the water temps get really high.

Well? What happened?
Heading out tomorrow at 0500. Smallies first, maybe a little muskie fishing. Kids will be along, a good smallie bite would probably be better for them.

It was pretty slow from the talk on the radio. We launched just after 6 am and turned the corner into Campeau Bay on a tip. I had just finished setting a rod on a inline board with a f19? (the big one) in yellow and white when I heard the real scream and as I turned a fish cleared the water. Not sure what it was, as I didn't get a good look at it. Definitely not a 20#, though. It was gone before I could get to the rod. We were only in 3 FOW. Messed around in there a bit and fought the weeds with nothing else, so we rounded the point and headed into Anchor bay. Trolled all the way to Fairhaven, stopped and casted a while. I had one follow, but mistook it for weeds snagged on my spinner and it swam off when I lifted the lure out of the water. Again a small one, maybe 24" at the most. That was it for us. Trolled all the way back to Harley and headed in about 3pm.
Icefishnut reported two, but from the talk on the radio, things were SLOW. Had a nice day for it, though. The rec boaters were way fewer than last year. The gas prices are really hitting folks hard by the looks of things.
Good luck out there, I'm sure some of the exerts can find some fish.

I have been reading more about musky fishing lately but admittedly I know nothing of this sport. How many hookups would be considered a good day? Whats the average size out on LSC. I was talking with a friend of mine who goes out there and he said they usually hookup with one musky per trip and spend lots of time clearing lures of weeds.
