I'm going to mount a transom trolling motor on the side of my 14 lund, near the bow. (minn kota 46) Are there any suggestions which will help make this as seamless as it looks?
Thanks

I put transom mount on the bow of my 14 mirrocraft. I twisted the head of the motor 180 degrees so that the forward gears would would work as forward on the bow. Just take the screw out, twist the head around, and replace the screw. After the screw is taken out, the wires inside the shaft may get in the way of putting the screw back in, so you might need a small pick or something to push them out of the way in there while reinstalling the screw and nut.

When hanging the motor on the bow, my boat has a lip in the gunnel. I cut a small block of wood to take up the space between the edge of the gunnel lip and the side of the boat so that the motor had a nice flat surface to mount to. I drilled 2 small holes in the trolling motor mounting bracket and screwed this small block of wood to the bracket so that it would stay in place.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks Rich.
That gunnel is an issue. Saw one application where they cut a piece of 4x6 to make a square area to attach the motor. I'm still considering my options, but hope to be on the water tonight.
