Is the whole like weedy, or is it just the part by the boat launch and off to the right of the launch? I was on a float tube and only went off that way.

What exactly is in that lake ? Whats the lake known for I guess is what Im asking.......any walleye ?

I live in Comstock Park and trying to cut my gas driving and looking for something local to fish for Walleye. Muskegon is about 45 minutes away. Camp Lake is a lot closer. Wondering if Im wasting my time on this lake for walleye .....thanks guys!

No walleye in Camp that I am aware of. Bass, Pike, gills. Possibly a few perch too.

Thank you so much for letting me know about Camp Lake. Would it be possible for you to tell me what lakes nearby have a good population of walleye in them. Good walleye fishing lakes that is. I live in Comstock Park, basically 5 mile and Alpine road. Any good walleye lakes close by? Just trying to save on traveling gas this summer. Thanks so much!

Put your boat in the river. It has alot of walleye in it. And it is very much underfished. You could launch at Riverside Park or at the West Rver Drive launch. Either launch is not far from your house.

I guess Justin and I are thinking the same this morning.

Well I do notice he says "lakes" nearby. And at the moment the Grand is at 11,000 ... pretty high.

There are walleye in the Whitefish lakes... not in great numbers but they are there. There are walleye in Lincoln Lake... though I've never managed to catch one. Heck, I know a guy who recently caught one in Wabasis Lake but good luck finding another one there! LOL!!!

Like they mentioned though... let the river come down some and give it a shot.

Not any more....That was pretty much a one time stocking to try to take care of the small gills. Plus I did not see anything in the regs this year saying Long Lake was off limits. I believe that the walleye there are fair game now.

Thanks guys! When I think river I always think of a canoe or something I guess. Never though about it really. I have a 18 foot Fish n Ski Cajun boat. Would that be too big for the river ?? And if that is fine to use, would I be able to launch at the riverside and/or the West river launches? Which by the way where are these launches ??

I will look up information about Long Lake. Seems to be a small lake. Is there a good launch there and would my boat be too big for that lake?

Sorry for all the questions....just trying to save on gas as much as I can this year. Thanks so much for all the answers. Hope to hear back on these questions. And I guess about the river......what stretches can i fish in where I wouldnt have to worry about my boat getting stuck or damaged. Just dont want to look like an idiot out there fishing where I should never be in..ya know....

gas just went up to 4.15....just ridiculous!

Hey again guys.....

There are no restrictions on Long Lake for anything. Just the normal size and limits. Long Lake has been stocked with Walleye just about every 2-3 years of 5,000 eyes each time.

Lincoln Lake has been well stocked it looks like just about every year or 2. 40-60,000. So they gotta be in there.....

The only thing that I could find was that Bass Lake in Kent County...there is no pike size limit, with a daily limit of 5. Must be a crap load of pike in there, or they want to get rid of them. Just go to michigan.gov/dnr and you can click on fishing, scroll down you will see regulations, and stock data.

Ok...hope to hear back from you guys...thanks again!
