How would you target big bass that you can see in 2-3 fow? I slowly pulled a crank bait by and didn't scare it but a money minnow sent it into the weeds away from the lure. I stopped because there were other guys fishing close and I didn't want to let on that there was a big one there but I'm going back in the morning.;)

I walk the sea wall for bass. It works a lot better than casting to them IMO. Twisters, crankbaits are all great for that. Jigging spoons SOMETIMES get bass right by the sea wall too. - Bryon

use a steel jacket, that .22 will ricochet off water.

A big Watermelon/red flake Zoom lizard rigged weedless with no weight. Throw it up onto the sea wall and gently pull it until is lightly plops into the water and BARELY, just barely craw it along just past the bass. If she doesn't hit that, then a live crawdad may be your only recourse. If you're adverse to live bait for bass, then I'd second the .22 ;):p

The bass are there for the Gobies, if your not seeing any bedding going on
Gobies on the seawalls are a constant food source so match the hatch they would say...
Nothing big and flashy up close to the wall, they will spook and see you:yikes: easily

I would start with #3 or #5 Rapala , original Floater, in black/silver or blue/silver. Twitch it gently on surface like an injured baitfish.
