View Full Version : Wet bilge solved (I hope)
My bilge pump has always liked to run, I mean frequently. I have checked ever loose looking rivets etc. The last few times things got to the point I was getting mighty uncomfortable out there. Looking on the bilge, in the bow everywhere, boat under way, boat static, couldn't find a thing. WELLLLL.....
It seems one of my livewell pumps was leaking at the bottom of a hose fitting, where I could never see it. I discovered this while doing other work in the bilge, touched the hose, and the plastic barb on the pump the hose connects to just snapped off.:yikes:
New pump tomorrow.Launch Weds. Wish me luck.LOL

Congrats, I had a similar issue last year had to keep the bilge running. Finally realized the pump housing on my livewell pump was cracked. LOL it was a relief.

Do you have the rubber style drain plug? For $3.00, that was the solution with the Tracker I just sold. they do get old over time.

I have a few loose rivets... so I get a little water in the boat too. But I noticed that my 800 GPH bilge pump wasn't putting the water out that it used to. So, I got to looking at it on the water the other day... seems the hose from the pump to the outlet has a big crack in it! It's spraying half the water it's pumping back into the bilge. 3' of hose will fix it later this week.

i hope that you found the problem with your boat --mag and i were kind of concerned watching that poor bilge run and run most of the day, we thought travis might have been getting wet feet:p:p---hopefully you got it fixed so you can put those flea flingin' rods away and join the tin navy for some toothy critter action when the season opens;):D;)
