If you were FORCED to use ONE method, one technique and ONLY ONE... what would you use? We'll make it easy with these parameters:
It's mid-late June.
Lake has nice weeds coming up on sharp drop offs
Water is about 68-70 degrees
The spawn is DONE.
Water clarity is good... you can see the bottom in 5-6 FOW.
A nice 6 mph southern breeze
I think this describes a LOT of lakes in Michigan.
I think a lot of people here know what rod I'd have in my hand. Drop shot!! :D

I thought the SpongeBob Squarepants rod & reel was Your favorite :yikes::lol:? Seriously, if it came down to one whole day using one technique - hands down I'd have a 7' med/hvy baitcasting outfit loaded with 20 lb. Florocarbon. To that I would tie a Strike King 3/8oz. Rattling Pro-model jig (blk/blue), tipped with a Zoom Chunk (blue). Can be flipped/pitched inside the weedbed pockets - worked on the deep outside weed edge or any other offshore structure. Think I could make a day of that, and a jig/chunk combo like that will usually take the biggest Bass of the day :fish:. C-man

See, now I've been using my drop shot in many different situations so far this year... shallow, deep, around cover, and I can't wait to try it around docks when the fish move up!

you left out one KEY element...wind. Wind less than 10mph, I'd throw senko, no doubt.
Over 10mph, probably a frog over lily pads.

You ever try a weighted hook with a senko, works great when it's a bit windy...

If less wind then probably a wacky rigged blue senko right next the lily pads or in them

5" weightless senko no matter how windy it is:D

T-rigged Senko, only because it is a bit more versitile than wacky (I think).

Give me an 8 wt., a set of shooting heads, and a rattling streamer. I'll put fish in the boat all day long.:)
Oh you mean hardware........ I'll take a 1/2oz. spinnerbait, white with black/silver fleck skirt with #5 brass willowleaf top blade, #2 red Colorado shaft blade, Powerbait 4" grub trailer.

one lure, all day. probably tubes, well i guess it would depend, i might use tubes unless there is (insert any kind of condition) then i would use a tube. but then again a tube works good too.

White or Motor Oil Yamamoto creature bait on a stand up weedless jig head. Can fish it deep, can fish it shallow, can fish it slow, can fish it relatively fast....catches fish regardless how it's presented at times.
I have to admit, sticking to one lure all day would be almost torture. I know the pros do it once they find a pattern, but it would be tough for a casual day on the water.
A rattle trap type bait might be my second choice or a mid depth crank. I tend to get anxious or impatient and like to fish fast moving baits
