If you had to choose a favorite fish to fish for in the summer months, what would it be and why?:fish::fish:
Panfish, since walleye from shore are pretty hard to get every time you go out and trout fishing in the summer can at times be work and no doubt isn't as good as in the spring and fall.
I like the taste of panfish and we typically catch a bunch of them when we fish for them, plus we can just take out canoe to my favorite panfish lake which is also a plus. I also catch pike, walleye and bass when fishing for panfish since I uses only lures which is big fun on ultra light tackle. - Bryon

River Smallmouth get My vote. You can always find a hungry Smallie in a River, and River fish are WAY less affected by fronts. Gamest fish that swims. C-man

I gotta go with the CATFISH!!

River smallmouth (#4,) with light tackle, 4lb. test and 5 1/2 ft rod, cotton cordell big-O or shad rap. Can't beat it but bluegills with a fly rod is a close second.
