Just got boat and ready to take my boys fishing, would like to get into some perch and just wondering which lake would be the best, as you know the natives get restless with no action THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!!:lol:

The last few years, none of these lakes are what I'd call GOOD for perch. If you want GOOD, I'd fish Lake Charlevoix. And do it now, before the water gets any warmer.

But if you can't do that, your best bet is probably Skegemog. Don't expect to get any size to them, I doubt you will at this time of the year. Clam would be your next best bet, but you'll spend most of your time ducking jet skis on that lake any time from today on.

We did rather well on perch on Skeg through the late ice. They were 12 + inches, but they did go somewhere. Probably out into Elk or back to Torch. We did decent on Bellaire around the entrance to the north arm in various depths of water last year. Bellaire had the best all around fishing last year for us. Skeg has a good number of big rockbass too. That keeps kids interested.

Talked to a buddy of mine today who was on Clam/Skegmog/Bellaire today... water is still cold... mid to upper 40's.
